Spindrift

Unplanned.

Unplanned same as surprised.

Unexpected nature brings delight.

A nature photo walk created the unexpected.

First, prairie captured my interest.

Into the valley, rich velvety yellow Canada goldenrod.

Snow white heath aster up the hill.

Pictures of both, hiking onward.

Dry summer and early fall limit blooms.

My favorite pic-ripe purple prairie clover with showy goldenrod.

Now to the lake…the gulls on the pier.

White on the shore draws me near.

Spindrift covers the shore.

Made by wind over 20mph overnight.

Wind blows water droplets off the waves:

Spindrift forms on shore.

How does blue water make white spindrift?

(Spindrift-I know almost nothing about it-a mystery…reminds me of what Job wrote…)

“…for we were born only yesterday and know nothing,

and our days on earth are but a shadow.” Job 8:9
