When Less is MORE

5 As you enter the house of God, keep your ears open and your mouth shut. It is evil to make mindless offerings to God. 2 Don’t make rash promises, and don’t be hasty in bringing matters before God. After all, God is in heaven, and you are here on earth. So let your words be few. 3 Too much activity gives you restless dreams; too many words make you a fool.

Old Greek sage Epictetus reminds us

"You have two ears, one mouth.

Listen twice as much."

The man with God’s wisdom writes:

“Let your words be few.”

God has much to say about our words-these remind:

“Guard your mouth, bridle your tongue.

Be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to become angry.

Multiplying words doesn’t end sin, be prudent, hold your tongue.

Whoever restrains his lips is prudent,

On the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak.”

Let your words be few.

It’s not self-improvement.

Not DIY.

All things are possible through Him.
