Actions Speak Louder Than Words

14 When Jesus arrived at Peter’s house, Peter’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a high fever. 15 But when Jesus touched her hand, the fever left her. Then she got up and prepared a meal for him.16 That evening many demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. He cast out the evil spirits with a simple command, and he healed all the sick. 17 This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said,

“He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.” Matthew 8:14-17

Someone said, “Talk is cheap.”

It could be a trite saying.

It is first truth.

We say things we never intend to do.

We flatter for selfish reasons.

It’s truth-actions speak louder than words.

The Creator of speech and action saw Peter’s mother.

Fevered, prostrate…sick.

He touched her hand.

Touched her… tips of His fingers on her hand.

She’s restored. Fever gone. Health returned. She gets up, serves.

Evening comes. He heals ALL the sick, His word expels EVERY demon.

Jesus…the Savior. He alone heals body and soul.

Our greatest need? Forgiveness of sin.

The greatest action ever?

Look!

The cross!
