90% Healed-10% Saved

Jesus can heal our physical illnesses.

With words.

Only Jesus can heal our spiritual sickness.

With His blood.

Jesus heals even foreigners.

He loves us even if we’ve squandered His gifts.

“On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” When he saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then Jesus answered, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.” Luke 17:11-19

The lepers knew Jesus would pass near them. They sought Him out…going to the path He would take they “stood the leper distance” away. When they saw Him they called out, “Jesus have mercy on us.”

Know this-when we call out to Jesus to have mercy on us-

He does.

He does.

He always does.

But there’s more He will freely give.

The nine only received physical healing.

They went away with the lessor gift. Their gift ended when they died.

They were physically ill. In those days leprosy was a death sentence. Jesus cleansed them of every bit of illness. But it was a healing only for a lifetime. God offers each of us a greater gift.

Only one came back to give thanks to Jesus and praise Him. He was not even Jewish. The man recognized that physical healing of leprosy could not be accomplished by an ordinary man. Jesus gave this one the greatest gift-spiritual healing. This healing saved the man from his sins. His physical body was healed and his soul saved-forever.

Our sins make us people who must stand at a distance. We must cry out, “We are unclean!” With you and me Jesus waits. He knows the path we are on. When we come to the end of our self-sufficiency-and stop trying to fix things on our own-We can cry out “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

He will.

He never changes, from more than 2000 years ago to today- Jesus is the same, yesterday and today.

We can ask Him for the greatest gift-saving our soul.

He is always willing when we cry “Have mercy on us!” He always hears us.

Only Jesus can make us well for eternity. There is another word to describe this gift-

Saved.

This is eternal saving…lasting forever. Want to be in the 10% group? Call out to Jesus.
