Rain

Life giving…restoring, reviving, renewing…

rain.

Not just falling water drops from moisture filled clouds.

Life.

Green again, growing again, vibrant again…liquid of life.

Roots recharged, leaves uncurled, blossoms refreshed…

nectar flowing, pollinators revived…

wet leaves soaking, survival giving…rain.

Colorless, odorless, crystal clear …eight pounds a gallon-

each breathing earth resident uses it.

Water.

Withhold it.

Plants wither, animals suffer, green disappears, earth becomes listless.

Dust comes, fires burn, heat intensifies

food’s sparse…famine is not far off.

Rain…greens mossy stumps, builds the buzz of bees, deepens the green in grass,

sweetens nectar for butterflies.

Rain is God’s gift.

He provides rain for the earth; he sends water on the fields. Job 5:10
