A Reality Recap

To keep our hearts grounded in reality become a student of the heavens. The moon is the first subject to give our attention.

To keep our hearts grounded in reality become a student of the heavens. The moon is the first subject to give our attention.

It’s time for a reality recap.

Truthfully, this notice is one every human, in every place in the world could be reminded of…every day. Got it? What you are about to read is for all. It is for every day. We’ll keep the message brief. You have life to keep you busy. This reality recap will direct the remaining days of your life-if you take it to heart. The message has three parts:

God is over all-sovereign.

1.       He made the heavens

2.       He does wonders that cannot be fathomed.

3.       He does miracles that cannot be counted.

Now the break-down:

First, the foundational principle for all of life…It is prudent for every human to realize God is in control.

Not on weekends or holidays; at every moment. That includes every day of world history as far back as records reveal. Then, God is in control of today. Finally, He will be in control of tomorrow…and forever. There are no gaps in God’s sovereignty…unless we make them. He will allow it.

Are you okay with that? Good. But you and I have an ongoing problem. It’s called sin. Sin causes us to want to be in charge. We want to make ourselves God. We make the gaps. Not God. When we fail to think about Who is really in control, we can easily deceive our finite minds and actually believe we are the ones in charge. There is a word for that-foolish.

The foundational principle of life directly contradicts the idea that it is good when we make self a little god. Does it seem wise for us to set self as god?

Hope you said no…There is only one God. Neither you nor I can ever be god.

With our sin conflicted minds always tempting us to make self god…how does a human being keep the truth that God is over all in view? Return to the 3 parts of the reality recap…

1.       God made the heavens. Do you know where the Bid Dipper is in the night sky? Could you find it if we stood outside together tonight after sunset? The Big Dipper is the first constellation every human should be able to locate.  Job, one of the Bible’s oldest individuals, knew the Big Dipper and Orion. Orion, is even today a major winter constellation in the Northern Hemisphere and a major summer constellation in the Southern Hemisphere. By the night sky, Job knew God is in control of all things. Want to know you aren’t God? Find the Big Dipper, then Orion…then keep watching, often.

2.       What is wonder? It is surprise, marvels, and awesome things. God does wonder. Not just a little…uncountable wonder. Job tells us the wonders God does cannot be fathomed. We cannot measure them. We cannot comprehend them. We’ll never find the end to the wonders of God.

3.       What is a miracle? It is an “event that appears inexplicable by the laws of nature and so is held to be supernatural in origin or an act of God.” Now remember this God does so many miracles they cannot be counted-ever.

Conclusion:  God made the heavens; He does unfathomable wonders and uncountable miracles-because He loves you…and me. Want to uncomplicate life? Get outside-look at the evidence. Then let Him be God.

The heavens declare the glory of God…

The heavens declare the glory of God…

He is the Maker of the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and the constellations of the south. He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted. Job 9:9-10
