See Them Now...Soon They're Gone

Pasque Flower Cluster

Here today, gone the next time you seek them.

Pasque flowers have a specific time of bloom and beauty. The bloom lasts for a season. The length is measured in days. Two of the blossoms in this cluster are past peak bloom.

The Pasque flower provides life lesson one…life is short.

The second truth:  flowers have no anxiety.

You disagree, a truth like this it does not apply to flowers. Anxiety is for humans. Right, but Pasque flowers still provide an anxiety free model. The clock is ticking before the blossom opens-the built-in objective for the blossom is producing fruit. To produce fruit, it must die. Seems like a waste doesn’t it? All that beauty for just a few days. Not at all…in the process there is no worry. God cares for them…He cares for you and me more. They present us with a model: worry is unnecessary.

Here’s the third lesson. Beauty is for praise.

Where does the pale lavender color originate? Why do the stamen and pistil in the center provide such contrasting splendor? Why are Pasque flowers unquestionably magnificent? Answer, they give credit to God…look at the Pasque flower and see power and divinity…the hand of God.

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith.” Matthew 6:28-30
