Source of True Joy

24 There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God, 25 for apart from him who can eat or who can have enjoyment? 26 For to the one who pleases him God has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the sinner he has given the business of gathering and collecting, only to give to one who pleases God. This also is vanity and a striving after wind. Ecclesiastes 2:24-26

Did you enjoy your last meal? Remember that great cup of coffee?

Admit the truth-life’s a gift.

Know why?

Grace

Undeserved favor, mercy, blessing and kindness.

These…God’s great gifts.

We forget, we become blinded, we believe lies…sometimes complain.

Our work, gifts of daily bread and the enjoyment they bring.

Each a part of God’s grace to us.

Not our talents, not our strength, not our great abilities…

Joy of life is God’s loving gift.

Part of this truth contains warning.

The one living for self, chases wind and doesn’t experience true joy.

What true joy?

Take the yoke of Jesus.

A walk in the woods brings joy…A walk with Jesus brings forever joy.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:29
