I Never Knew You

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ Matthew 7:21-23

These are the words…

you never want to hear…

“I never knew you.”

Jesus will say them.

They will be spoken to those who believe

they can be righteous…

that they are “good people.”

At least you aren’t like so and so?

You aren’t so bad you say?

Is your goodness GREATER than the MOST religious?

You say it’s me God.

Will God recognize you?

Or God instead declares you lawless?

Who are you?

Sinner.

Your goodness filthy rags.

Your eternal reward punishment.

Can you see?

Our only hope is doing God’s will.

Seek Jesus.

His righteousness.

None in us.
