The Problem With Pride

25 “At that time Jesus prayed this prayer: “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. 26 Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way! 27 “My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” Matthew 11:25-27

Listen to Jesus.

He speaks of humility and power. Our humility. His power.

Have you checked the condition of your humility recently?

Not easy.

Inflated egos don’t want to be controlled. An inflated ego falsely swindles our heart.

“I’m not too proud. I’m not like him…or her.” Why check my humility?”

Proud hearts have no room for Jesus. A proud heart cannot see its deficiency.

A childlike heart can hear God’s Holy Spirit calling. A childlike heart is willing to confess sin.

One more.

Sinful human hearts won’t choose God.

Because He is love, God shows Himself to the childlike.

“Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.” Matthew 18:3 (NLT)
