Ordinary Extraordinary-Just Grass?

Both ordinary and astounding; truth and amazing in one package.

First Latin: Hesperostipa spartea; in English its name: Porcupine Grass.

Yes grass. Common familiar everyday grass. Grass covers the earth.

Green. Food for cattle, lawnmowers. Smells fresh, oxygen maker: grass.

We take grass for granted. Seldom give it a thought.

An ordinary earth object. But grass has an extraordinary side.

All grass is extraordinary. By living can you produce oxygen?

Porcupine grass is double extraordinary. Its seed an engineering marvel.

Fine end an awn. Opposite end seed.  Awn twists-untwists.

Awn anchors. Humidity twists the middle, bores seed into soil…self-planting.

Astonishing.

He covers the heavens with clouds; he prepares rain for the earth; he makes grass grow on the hills. Psalm 147:8
