Majesty

Please…accept my invitation, take a drive with me. My vehicle is old, but then so am I. The day is still young. Allow me to show you majesty. Yes, that is a puzzling statement…humor this old guy. Please…get in. You’ll be safe. Your soul will thank you…after you begin to understand majesty.

Before we begin to drive, it would be wise of me to explain to you what I mean by majesty. I can tell you agree by the relief visible on your face. Think of majesty as a math equation. It is magnificence + splendor + grandeur multiplied by dignity. But the majesty on my mind is all of these multiplied by two additional factors: an infinity of power and wisdom. This majesty cannot be invented or manufactured by any human mind. Therefore, this majesty cannot be replicated. It only occurs from one source: God.

God has spread His majesty over all the earth.

Come with me on a short drive to see majesty.

Our first stop is birds. Want to see majesty? Find a bird…feathers, flight colors, call, migration and so many species, birds have been given a special measure of God’s majesty. Put a Canada Goose in fall sunshine and majesty glows.

I don’t want to take much of your time…we’ll drive on. Up the hill to the east into the morning sun. Perhaps we can still find the red and gold of fall. Majesty is in them. We’ve gone a few blocks, nothing yet. Look, a cemetery. Can majesty be found in a cemetery? Let’s turn in and find out.

 Wow, that didn’t take long. Golden green and deep burgundy red together please my eyes. Can we see majesty here? I see by your face you think so. Perhaps we should drive further into the cemetery.

Look at the two maple trees side by side. Maple tree red beneath a blue sky easily qualifies for the majesty award.

Wow- look ahead. Do you like yellow green? Right again…the golden yellow green of the maple leaves enable us to understand majesty.

Now, turn around, look behind us. How about maple red framed in the silence and peace of a cemetery? Glad you like it.

 Perhaps we better drive on now. I have another spot for us-just down the road. What’s that you say? Stop? Oh…I see what you mean, sunlight does make maple red majestic. I believe you are beginning to see majesty!

How about one more place. Perhaps we can get a view of majesty on a larger scale. We’ll get out of the vehicle here. To see majesty on a larger scale we need to walk a bit. What? You say you’ve already found majesty on a large scale? Look at the cottonwood you say? Oh…wonderful…you’ve found it-Majesty!

 The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty;

the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength;

indeed, the world is established, firm and secure.
