One Silent Night

Joseph obeyed the law.

Go to Bethlehem

Pay your tax.

Mary obeyed and endured.

Nine months she trusted

God.

Mary obeyed, she endured.

A long uncomfortable donkey ride…

no room in the inn,

an uncleaned, aroma filled stable, shared with animals.

Joseph and Mary obeyed-and believed.

In their place, what would you have done?

One silent night, unsuspecting shepherds innocently guarding sheep, were terrified.

Angels never came to the sheep pasture.

This angel spoke to them.

What do brave men look like-terrified?

This silent night a host of angels sang, silence shattered,

angeloc voices audible,

to stunned shepherd ears,

“Glory to God in the highest,

and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests.”

The shepherds believed.

They left the sheep and hurried to Bethlehem.

One silent night,

this night changed the world.
