Something to Ponder

Hi kids…(moms for sure…dads for sure) Can you count to 100? Great…what you are about to read you can count to 100…100 words that is. These 100 words are about the word ponder and a bird. Ponder means to think. The bird is a sparrow. The word and the sparrow lead us to God.  Here we go! Oh, the rule is-the title and the verse do not count to 100 words…just the body.

Saw a bird this week…

three the same.

They’re gone now.

Far away to a land of semi-forested tundra.

A place with few trees, a place where it is now spring.

Tundra weather is mostly winter weather, the ground thaws only on top.

Below its permafrost. These birds flew there.

Name them Harris’s Sparrows.

They migrated to a place cold even in summer.

Why? To raise their young. The mother Harris’s builds the nest out of the cold wind.

Ponder the birds. Consider. Contemplate. Wonder about.

Consider hollow bones, feathers, migration, eggs, calls.

Birds show us the power of God.

How amazing are the deeds of the Lord!

All who delight in him should ponder them.

Everything he does reveals his glory and majesty.

His righteousness never fails.

Psalm 111:2-3

*Count to 100. Title and verses do not count…they count…but not to 100.

These birds are alert to every danger-or potential danger. They have a long migration. There is danger every day…alertness counts.

You should hear them sing…oh it’s beautiful. Imagine this bird in a cold place called Tundra. It was made for it.
