4 In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5 And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons?

“My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
    nor be weary when reproved by him.
6 For the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
    and chastises every son whom he receives.”

Hebrews 12:4-6

It’s a difficult thing.

Discipline.

All resist it. Some more, few less.

Discipline can be punishment for wrong.

In the end no man, woman or child enjoys reproof. No delight in discipline.

Humans discipline imperfectly. Sinful natures distort discipline.

How can a sinner honestly correct a fellow sinner?

Accept HIS discipline...

It’s not made on earth, not planned in the sinner’s mind.

God’s discipline is anchored in love.

All knowing, everywhere present, all-powerful God is perfect.

Faultless.

His correction without error. Ever.

No one is exempt from the discipline of God the Father.

Bend your knees.

Bow your heart.

Obey.
