See the package of truth.

Think of it…truth collected, bundled-available for you and me. Jesus put the truth in a package and set it before us. Dr. Luke, author of Luke recorded the message.

Look, the wrapping on the package has words on it. They say, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.”” This is true.

Jesus was not being cruel to His earthly mother and family when He spoke those words. His words are part of the glorious truth package: when anyone hears God’s word-and does what it says-they are a brother or sister of Jesus. And while earthly family is imperfect, Jesus is perfect. Anyone who hears and believes becomes a member of God’s forever family. Seems too simple, believe, and do what Jesus has said-and we’re in. But that’s what Jesus said. His words are true. Read His words from Luke:

“Then his mother and his brothers came to him, but they could not reach him because of the crowd. And he was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see you.” But he answered them, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.””

Lines of Truth!

What does truth do? It sets us free!

Before Jesus spoke about who His brothers and sisters were, He spoke a parable of the Sower and seed. After this parable Jesus talked about lamps. He said no one lights a lamp then covers it. We light the lamp to illuminate the place where it is. Here’s another thing…when we see the truth in black and white it often changes how we think.

He is the black and white truth, the unadorned facts…think of it as truth in 6 lines:

1.       The Creator of the world made an infinite number of seeds when He made plants, so God plants seeds.

2.       One of the seeds God created does not grow in soil…there’s only one.

3.       “Light seed” is God’s word. Light seed grows in human hearts.

4.       God is constantly sowing light seed in human hearts.

5.        Human hearts are like soil: the types are hard, rocky, weedy and fertile. Sin does that.

6.       Every heart is fit for growing God’s word…light seed.

When we allow the light seed of God’s word to fall on the fertile soil of our heart, we do what God’s word says, we were created for-being in His family. The package of truth is for us. It was from the beginning of time. And God wants us to open it and He wants in His family.

The 6 lines of truth are about freedom. Does freedom sound good?

Truth is forever, it never evaporates like water…it sets us free.
