What happens when Jesus calls?

“And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal. And he said to them, “Take nothing for your journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not have two tunics. And whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them.” And they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.” Luke 9:1-6

Jesus called.

The disciples heard and gathered.

Did they feel the power and authority He gave them? Did they become energized?

Jesus gave them power and authority over all of the devil’s forces.

Jesus gave them power to heal the sick.

Jesus told them to rely on Him…”take nothing for your journey” He said.

How did the disciples respond when Jesus called?

They answered.

They experienced the joy and deep satisfaction of serving Jesus. The people they came in contact with heard the good news, the Gospel of Jesus. There was “healing everywhere.”

Good…fine, virtuous things happen when Jesus calls. Life to the full-abundant life comes from Jesus. Shouldn’t the Creator of the universe have such power?

He has our number.
