Glory and Honor
David Ellis
Adoration
Devotion
And…worship.
It’s not about humans.
No human is worthy of it…no accomplishments, feats of strength or endurance
are worthy of praise.
God is.
Worthy of glory,
Honor,
Adoration,
Devotion,
…certainly worship.
Praising humans is hollow, shallow, temporary and imperfect.
Praise to God who is worthy of all honor and glory is everlasting, permanent, and profound.
To praise another human invites envy, jealousy and discontent.
To praise God invites comfort, wonder, joy and peace.
Humans were made to praise God.
How to praise God?
Begin with creation…praise God for clouds, sunrise, sunset, and rain.
Then thank Him for Jesus.
Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heaven! Praise him for his mighty works;
praise his unequaled greatness! Praise him with a blast of the ram’s horn;
praise him with the lyre and harp! Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;
praise him with strings and flutes! Praise him with a clash of cymbals;
praise him with loud clanging cymbals. Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord!
Praise the Lord!
Psalm 150:1-6
