See the Mallards?

I brought my camera to the fish house. It was my hope there would be ducks in the lake channel. They were very curious…and a bit cautious.

We are “yoked.”

All harnessed to something.

Who do you serve?

To whom do you submit?

Yoked or harnessed we go the direction of our yoke partner.

See the Mallards?

Examine the sheet of ice on the shore…winds over 40 mph hour lasting more than 12 hours, washed the shore and coated it with layers of ice. The mallards just climb up onto the ice. Do the ducks in the background have cold feet?

God is their “yoke” partner.

They do not plant or harvest food.

God gives it to them.

A duck’s burden is light, being yoked with God-easy.

God’s power and strength is for mallards.

God’s power and strength is for humans.

A little lower than the angels, we are of great worth to God.

Accept Jesus’ invitation.

“Come to me.”

“Yoked” with Jesus,

He takes our burdens, and gives us rest.

I used a telephoto lens. The ice where I took the photo is 12 inches thick…very safe ice. But obviously, not safe where the mallards swim!

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
