Three Truths and Three Conclusions for 2020

The cliché “a picture is worth a thousand words” comes from antiquity.

“A picture is worth a thousand words” is a long used phrase.

We are told by some to refrain from using clichés. Because of this, we often view them negatively. There can be good ones. “A picture is worth a thousand words” is a good one.

Below you will find a series of photos. One or two from each month, all taken during 2019. Rather than writing long descriptions for each photo, my choice for us is to allow the photos to speak. Examine them, consider the beauty of the earth they reveal, consider the power, the wonder of this world we live in. Then be reminded each photo is evidence of the hand of the Creator. While you view the photos allow these words to run in parallel thought to the pictures:

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him.” Psalm 24:1

At some point, perhaps while you are reading, or after viewing the images…think deeply about the words of Psalm 24:1. What is the message in this verse? What is God telling us? There are three statements:

1.       Earth belongs to God.

2.       Everything is God’s.

3.       We belong to God.

The previous three are true. Drawing conclusions, we find three more are also true:

1.       You and I are guests on earth.

2.       Nothing is mine…or yours.

3.       We are not in control of our lives, God is.

The New Year will soon begin.

How might it be different if these 6 truths guide your decisions in 2020? Enjoy the images…they are my evidence to us that Psalm 24:1 is true.  They reveal the power and divine nature of God.

The earth is the Lords!
